Exploding Comics Careers… Hard Work and a Bit of Hope
Julie Ditrich received a lovely mention in a recent interview with fellow comics creator Christopher Sequeira on the “There are Inkspots on My Page” website. The following question was posed to Chris:The Australian comics industry has grown considerably over the last few years. Are there any up and coming artists/writers that you’re excited about?
Two friends of mine who do comics who have been active for a while – to those that know what’s going on – are going to have careers that just explode soon: Artist, Marcelo Baez and writer, Julie Ditrich…Coincidentally, Julie is working on a fantasy comic book series with Marcelo Baez. Readers will get a taste-test of their major character within a chapter in an upcoming graphic novel featuring 12 Australian superheroes. Edited by Chris Sequeira, the book is represented by Brian Cook from The Author’s Agent and will be published in 2017.
