Synopsis: This special Preview features the opening act of Issue #1 of the Elf~Fin: Hyfus & Tilaweed series, introducing Hyfus, the gifted seer~sea of the Waverin pod, and the extraordinary underwater world he calls home.

The Story Behind the Story: Hyfus and Tilaweed first appeared in the pages of WaveDancers, where their brief, unfinished romance struck a chord with readers. Rather than simply revisit those characters, Jozef Szekeres and I created an entirely new universe—Elf~Fin—set on the ocean world of Elf~Threaal, complete with its own mythology, cultures and history.

From the beginning, we wanted to tell a fantasy that remained almost entirely beneath the waves, allowing the ocean itself to become a living part of the story. Building that world meant imagining everything from underwater societies and politics to unique forms of communication, spirituality and psychic perception.

For us, this preview was just the beginning of a remarkable creative journey.
