THE PHANTOM: THE RETURN OF THE GOLDEN CIRCLE Launched
Frew Publication recently published The Phantom 2000th Issue (AKA Giant Size Phantom), which included an original 96-page story entitled “The Return of the Golden Circle”, written by Australian comics writer Julie Ditrich and illustrated by Brazilian artist Wendell Cavalcanti, with colours by Ivan Pederson. The story is a sequel to “The Golden Circle” by Lee Falk with art by Ray Moore, published between 1939 and 1940 as a comic strip. This story takes place seven years after the original event. The Phantom re-encounters the gang of female jewel thieves who are intent on exacting revenge on him for foiling their murderous plans and having them incarcerated. In a story that bridges both the Deep Woods and Paris, the Phantom sets out to prevent the ultimate jewel heist and outwit the gang, using their own modus operandi against them.
