Writing to Purpose on THE PHANTOM

Comics creator Julie Ditrich has written a feature article called “Writing to Purpose: 7 Insights I Gained from Writing for The Phantom”, which has just been published in the Inkspot magazine (Autumn / Winter 2021) by the Australian Cartoonists Association. The seven insights include: Writing to the publisher’s brief; Meeting “Phan” expectation; Writing to update the visual storytelling craft; Writing within the tropes of the action-adventure genre; Writing to Phantom lore; Writing to give the artist the opportunity to shine; and Writing within the constraints of the comics medium.
